Final audit of the Life Grin

The final audit visit for the LIFE GrIn project took place on the weekend of 17 and 18 June, with a view to its completion next September. The work started in the "Theotokopoulos" room of the Vikelai Municipal Library of Heraklion. After the greeting of the Mayor of Heraklion Mr. Kalokairinou and the Deputy Mayor Mr. Yalitakis, the deliverables, projects and results of the programme were presented. In the afternoon of the same day, a visit to the urban green areas of Heraklion took place, where the urban green projects were implemented in order to enhance the city's adaptation to climate change. More than 52,500 mainly native endemic plants of Crete were planted at the intervention sites. The audit was completed the next day in the Municipality of Maroussi, where the LIFE GrIn team, accompanied by the corresponding team of the Municipality of Maroussi, visited the pilot intervention sites. Subsequently, the results were presented at the Maroussi Town Hall. The LIFE GrIn project team would like to thank Mr. Krzysztof Wójcik, Project Advisor from CINEA (European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency) and Ms. Sophia Papageorgiou from the LIFE Programme External Monitoring Team (ELMEN EEIG), for their support throughout the project and their valuable advice for its successful closure.
